Attitude Control (Joystick) Handle Model. United States, 1969. Cast and hand-tooled black composite handle, with finger grooves, mounted on a custom oak wood base, with inscribed brass plaque. This "handle" was made for the space shuttle mockup during contract compitition. Handle height: 4-3/4". Rare and unsual.

Armstrong, Neil. First man to walk on the moon, July 20, 1969. Felt-tip signature on a 6 x 4¼ inch textured card imprinted with Armstrong's famous quote: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." Armstrong modified his famous quote by inserting in his own hand an "a" between "for" and "man," making up for his historic omission! Large, bold signature, ideal for framing.

A group of twelve items signed by pioneer aviators and astronauts: An autograph card (some creasing) with the image of Australian aviation pioneer Charles Kingsford Smith who held many long distance flying records and disappeared near Burma in 1936; a card signed by Floyd Gibbons and a 3" x 4" photo of Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan in the cockpit of a plane, signed and inscribed in 1938 (rust mark from paper clip does not affect signature); 3" x 5" cards signed by Buzz Aldrin (2), and Gordon Cooper, a NASA business card signed by Al Worden, and 8" x 10" color photos signed by Edward H. White, II, Vance D. Brand, David R. Scott, Kathyn D. Sullivan, and Frederick H. Hauck. Light toning to older items, else fine or better.
